New Delhi: Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra is all set to release on September 9 this year. The lead actors including Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are leaving no stones unturned for the promotion of their film. However, they are concentrating on virtual promotion rather than visiting places. The movie will show Ranbir and Alia sharing the screen for the first time. The movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles.
During the live session on the film’s promotion, the stars and the director were seen talking about why aren’t they promoting Brahmastra in the way they do for other movies. Alia Bhatt replied, “We will promote the film, and we will be everywhere but if the question you are asking is why we are not phailod (talking about widespread promotion) everywhere, right now our focus is…” Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor quickly pointed out to Alia’s baby bump and stated, “well I can say somebody has phailod (a reference to her gaining weight).” He thereafter stated that he meant the comment as a joke.
Alia and Ayan were both surprised by the comment.
The clip has been circulating on Reddit. However, some users expressed shock over Ranbir’s comment while others took it as a light gesture.
One of the users commented, “If he is saying this on camera, think what he says in private… but he has made loads of such comments with Katrina and Anushka.. and they both give it back to him then and there,” while another commented, “My ex was like this. He would say things about my weight and personality and try to pass them off as jokes. Alia should run far away from him.”
On the other hand, a user wrote, “Best comment.”
Ranbir and Alia tied the knot in April at their house in the presence of family and closed friends. In June, Alia announced her pregnancy with her husband Ranbir Kapoor. She shared a picture on social media and wrote, “Our baby… Coming soon.”
