New Delhi: The Cannes Film Festival will kick off on May 17 and will feature numerous Indian celebs on the red carpet. The French Riviera town aims to return to its customary wild festivities and exhibition of head-turning fashion moments this year, now that things are mostly back to normal. As we begin the countdown to the main event, here’s a look back to the 72nd Cannes Film Festival, when two of India’s most well-known actors and actresses, Priyanka Chopra and Hina Khan, made their debuts. Hina will also be performing at the festival for the second time this year. As they walked the red carpet in 2019, the two divas became the talk of the town. 1. Priyanka Chopra:
In a show-stopping embroidered gown by designer Roberto Cavalli, Priyanka Chopra made her first-ever appearance on the Cannes red carpet. The dual-toned strapless dress with sequin accents and a long train showed off the Matrix actor’s décolletage and toned legs. Priyanka Chopra completed her Cannes look with a pair of Chopard diamond earrings and rings, side-swept wavy hair, mauve lips, a graphic eyeliner, volumizing mascara, and gold eyeshadow.

For her second appearance on the Cannes red carpet with her husband, Nick Jonas, Priyanka transformed into a genuine bride. With layers of translucent tulle overlay and a long train, the actor chose a strapless tulle gown by Georges Hobeika that scored high on drama. A pair of diamond drop earrings, choker, metallic heels, nude lips, strong eye makeup, and a neat ponytail completed her white-wedding outfit.

2. Hina Khan:
Hina Khan, who arrived in Cannes, wore a grey embroidered Ziad Nakad gown with spectacular floor-sweeping sleeves, a long train, plunging neckline, and sheer tulle overlay for the 72nd Cannes Film Festival red carpet. Dramatic eye makeup, diamond earrings, a sleek side-swept hairstyle, and beautiful complexion defined the Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actor’s premiere appearance.

Hina’s second red carpet presentation was one to remember for a long time. The actor wore an Alin Le’ Kal translucent metallic strapless gown with a risqué thigh-high slit and a long train. Diamond earrings, a half-tied haircut, berry-red lips, sparkly eye makeup, and reddened skin completed her look.
