Remo D’Souza suffers heart attack, admitted to Mumbai hospital

Remo D’Souza received Best Choreography award for Bajirao Mastani’s Deewani Mastani at 63rd National Film Awards. He has also judged dance reality shows like Dance Plus, Dance India Dance and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.

New Delhi: Choreographer-director Remo D’Souza has suffered a heart attack. He is currently admitted in ICU of Kokilaben Hospital. According to reports, the acclaimed choreographer has undergone angioplasty and is now stable.

His wife Lizelle D’Souza told The Indian Express, ”It was a blockage. Doctors have done angiography. He is in the ICU. Please pray. Next 24 hours are very important.”

He received Best Choreography award for Bajirao Mastani’s Deewani Mastani at 63rd National Film Awards. He has also judged dance reality shows like Dance Plus, Dance India Dance and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.

Remo is also known for directing dance-drama films like Street Dancer 3D, ABCD, ABCD 2 and A Flying Jatt among others.

A few days ago, Remo had said that he is keen to make a film on Saroj Khan, and he says its was the late choreographer’s wish.

“We had a long conversation and she said, “kabhi mere upar biopic koi banaye, to tu hi banana, kyunki tu dance aur struggle do hi samajhta hai (if someone were to make by biopic, you do it because you know the struggle as well as dance’,” Remo told a news agency.
