Salman Khan death threat: Mumbai police nabs caller from Thane, details here

The boy reportedly made a call to the Mumbai Police control room on Wednesday and said that ‘Salman Khan would be killed by April 30’.

New Delhi: A day after the death threat to Bollywood actor, Mumbai Police have apprehended the caller from a nearby district Thane. More details about his identity & his motives are yet to emerge but he is said to be a 16-year-old boy, hailing from Rajasthan.

The boy reportedly made a call to the Mumbai Police control room on Wednesday and said that ‘Salman Khan would be killed by April 30’.

The cops tracked down his location with technical assistance and apprehended him from Shahapur locality in Thane district, located about 70 kms from Mumbai.

The boy has been under detention by Azad Maiden Police for further interrogation.

Given boy’s age & antecedents, the boy is unlikely to be part of some mafia or gang and prima facie it appears to be a case of mischief.

Series of death threats to actor

The Bollywood actor has lately received multiple death threats, with the gravest from Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The Mumbai police also lodged an FIR against 3 gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar and one Rohit — for giving death threats to the actor via an e-mail.

The e-mail, addressed to a person Prashant Gunjalkar, said that the actor must watch the interview by Bishnoi, given to a news channel and he must talk face-to-faced with Goly bhai for ‘settling the matter’.

“Next time, there will be action, jhatka dekhne ko milega”, the letter stated.

The actor received a death threat via handwritten note in June last year.

The spate of death threats left the actor & his family concerned about his well-being. The actor recently purchased a Rs 1 crore bulletproof SUV for his safety.
