‘Stop Using Sidharth Shukla’ trends on Twitter after Shehnaaz Gill’s tribute song, Aly Goni & others come to rescue

The tribute did not go very well with many on social media, with netizens telling Shehnaaz that ’emotions are not business’.

New Delhi: Shehnaaz Gill kept herself away from social media since the sudden demise of her rumoured boyfriend Sidharth Shukla. However, on Thursday, the Honsla Rakh actress finally broke her silence as she took to Instagram to pay tribute to the late actor.

Shehnaaz shared a poster of the song “Tu Yaheen Hai” in the beloved memory of Sidharth Shukla. She captioned the post, “Tu mera hai aur …………………… @realsidharthshukla #Sidharthshukla.”

This came as a surprise gift to the fans of Shehnaaz and late Sidharth, known as “SidNaaz” following the release of the duo’s last music video “Habit.”

Many Sidnaaz fans received Sehnaaz’s tribute song with open hands, showering love on the Hosla Rakh actress. However, the tribute did not go very well with many on social media, with netizens telling Shehnaaz that ’emotions are not business’.

Here’s how Netizens criticized the commercial use of Sidharth’s name :

A fan page wrote, “Here we are still mourning this unfortunate event n people who claim to be his close friends are selling emotions on the name of a Tribute. Asking us to make REELS on someone’s death, counting views n likes! How low will they stoop? Stop the mockery! STOP USING SIDHARTH SHUKLA”

Meanwhile, many celebs including Aly Goni, Asima Riaz and others came out in support of Shehnaaz on Twitter. Aly tweeted “Stop it guys seriously!” along with a tweet that read, “Here we are still mourning this unfortunate event n people who claim to be his close friends are selling emotions on the name of a Tribute. Asking us to make reels on someone’s death, counting views n likes! How low will they stoop? Stop the mockery! stop using Sidharth Shukla.”

He further explained his first tweet saying, “I think there is a misunderstanding in my last tweet.. first of all Shehnaz ka poora Haq banta hai to tribute and I loved that song.. secondly that tweet was for those people who drag Sid in the name of cover songs reels and all. Jo uss tweet mein mention tha..#peaceout.”
