The story of Sunflower revolves around a residential building named Sunflower in Mumbai. The society is filled with different whimsical characters. One of the residents gets murdered in his apartment and what follows next is a hilarious tale of finding the culprit, and how the members of the colony get tangled in this murder mystery. Sunil Grover will be seen playing the character of Sonu, a naïve and simple man who is also a resident of the society. He is from a small town and quite clueless most of the times. He doesn’t know what to say when and this often lands him in big troubles.
In Sunflower, we will get to see Sunil Grover in a very simple avatar as a person who is just trying to survive in the busy city of Mumbai. In most of the scenes, we see him in the simplest of attire with a backpack as he gets readyfor his job. His clueless nature and dorky smile make him look harmless and almost vulnerable to the situation around him. Due to his naïve nature, he seems to get more involved in the complexities of the murder. His actions simply draw attention towards him, and the cops are hell-bent on proving him as the real culprit. Sunil Grover has always garnered praise for his impeccable acting skills, and we bet he won’t disappoint in this murder mystery either.
The web series Sunflower has been directed by Vikas Bahl and Rahul Sengupta. Vikas Bahl is best known for directing movies like Queen and Super 30 that were well-received by critics and audience alike.
Other cast members of the show include names like Girish Kulkarni, Shonali Nagrani, Sonal Jhaand many more. We will also get to see many new faces in the series. Ria Nalavade will be seen playing the role of Ashish Vidyarthi and Sonal Jha’s daughter, who has a rebellious streak.Her sexual orientation becomes a matter of concern for her parents. Singer-actress Saloni Khanna will be playing the role of Aanchal, who is Sonu’s crush. Dayana Erappa will play the role of Justina, who is a wild child.
The story explores many aspects of urban societies with the backdrop of a murder mystery. The entertaining teaser of the show was released by the makers and it showed each character in a very quirky and funny way.
