Sushant Rajput case: Rhea Chakraborty’s troubles mount; after ED questioning, drug probe begins

Meanwhile, Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer has said she has “never consumed drugs in her life”, responding to allegations that the 28-year-old was in touch with drug dealers.

New Delhi: In a fresh development in Sushant Singh Rajput case, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has joined the investigation into the late actor’s death.

The NCB has filed a case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and is going to probe Rhea Chakraborty’s alleged ‘drug chats’.

The NCB began its probe following fresh allegations linked to WhatsApp chats reportedly recovered from Rhea Chakraborty’s phone.

In coming days, the NCB will probe Rhea and her accomplices over alleged dealing in banned drugs, officials in the know of things told media.

The ED which is probing money laundering in the case referred some evidence to CBI & NCB about her alleged links to banned drugs.

Drug probe after Rhea’s ‘drug chats’ came to light

Times Now channel reported that Rhea Chakraborty had allegedly paid Rs 17,000 to Dipesh Sawant, a servant of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, for two bags of weed and this came out in the open via her WhatsApp chats.

In the chat, SSR’s house manager Samuel Miranda texts Rhea saying, “Hi, can you give Dipesh Rs 17,000 for 2 bags of weed? 1 for us & another for him & he will transfer it to us.” Replying to Miranda Rhea says, “Ya, we could.”

“Rhea Chakraborty has never consumed drugs in her life time ever. She’s ready for a blood test any time,” her lawyer said in a statement.

Last month, Sushant Singh Rajput’s father KK Singh had filed a First Information Report or FIR at Patna accusing Rhea Chakraborty, Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend, of mentally harassing him, taking his money and driving him to suicide.
