Taapsee Pannu takes a jibe at FM Sitharaman in her first tweet post I-T raid; read here
New Delhi: Taapsee Pannu on Saturday took to Twitter for the first time after the Income Tax raid on here. She took a dig at Finance Minister Sitharaman by saying, ‘My memory of 2013 raid that happened with me according to our honourable finance minister’.
This comes after FM Sitharaman’s statement on the IT raid. Sitharaman earlier said ‘the same persons were raided in 2013 as well, but no issue was made out then as it is being done now.’
“First of all, I am not commenting on any A or B individual. (But) since the names were taken, (I want to say) the very same names were raided in 2013,” she said in an interaction with journalists at IWPC (Indian Women’s Press Corps), said FM Sitharaman
The searches, part of a tax evasion probe against carried out across 30 locations in Mumbai and Pune, also covered Anurag Kashyap’s Phantom Films, Reliance Entertainment group CEO Shibhasish Sarkar and some executives of celebrity and talent management companies KWAN and Exceed.
Reacting to the allegations against her, Taapsee took to Twitter and wrote, “3 days of intense search of 3 things primarily 1. The keys of the “alleged” bungalow that I apparently own in Paris. Because summer holidays are around the corner. 2. The “alleged” receipt worth 5 crores to frame n keep for future pitching coz I’ve been refused that money before. 3. My memory of 2013 raid that happened with me according to our honourable finance minister. P.S- “not so sasti” anymore.”

According to officials:
“Evidence related to manipulation, under-valuation of share transactions of the production house, having tax implication of about Rs 350 crore found and is being further investigated. Evidence of cash receipts by the leading actress (Pannu) amounting to Rs 5 crore has been recovered,” the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) said.
Taking to Twitter, Taapsee’s boyfriend Boe on Thursday wrote, “Finding myself in a bit of turmoil. Representing India for the first time as a coach for some great athletes, meanwhile, I-T department is raiding Taapsee’s houses back home, putting unnecessary stress on her family, especially her parents. @KirenRijiju please do something.”
To which Kiren Rijiju replied
“Law of the land is supreme and we must abide by that. The subject matter is beyond yours and my domain. We must stick to our professional duties in the best interest of Indian Sports,” Rijiju replied on Boe’s tweet on Friday.
