8 out of 10 Indians hold favourable view of PM Modi, finds Pew Survey

The report stated that the most positive reviews about India was received in Israel where a whopping 71% held a
favourable view about the country.

New Delhi: Narendra Modi continues to remain the top choice of country, with eight out of ten Indians holding a favourable view for the Prime Minister, found a survey conducted by the Pew Research Centre.

The findings that come ahead of Group of 20 leaders (G-20 ) Summit in Delhi, further boosts Narendra Modi’s image as a committed & dedicated leader whose charisma and ‘personal connect’ with the world leaders has brought the spotlight on India.

The Pew Research in its survey found 79% favourable rating for PM Modi while out of this, 55% Indians held a highly favourable view for the Prime Minister.

Moreover, seven out of 10 believe that their country has become more influential & stronger on the global stage, the PEW Research Centre found in its survey.

The Survey also found that the overall public opinion of India was positive across the globe. About 46% shared favourable views about the country while 36% gave opinion against it while 16% had nothing to say on India’s rising prominence.

The report stated that the most positive reviews about India was received in Israel where a whopping 71% held a
favourable view about the country.

The Pew Research conducted its survey between February 20 to May 22 and sought opinion of more than 30,000 adults across 24 countries, including India.

Pew conducted the survey to examine the global views about PM Modi, scope of India’s rising might and how Indians viewed the world powers.

The survey further found soaring influence of United States and Russia on the world in recent years. About 49% of Indians saw US getting stronger & formidable in recent years while 41% felt the same about Russia. When asked about China’s influence, the mixed views were received.

The positive findings about Prime Minister, in Pew Survey, comes as fresh boost for the incumbent dispensation as it heads to 2024 Lok Sabha elections for record 3rd term under Narendra Modi. It found only 1/5th of Indians eliciting unfavourable views about PM Modi in 2023.
