After CM Yogi’s announcement of ‘biggest’ film city in UP, 1000-acre land identified for project

The Yamuna Expressway Authority has identified 1000-acre land for the proposed film city in Sector-21. UP CM had asked officials to launch land hunt for the film city project.

New Delhi: Days after Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath ordered the authorities to begin land hunt for filmcity, the Yamuna Expressway Authority has identified 1000-acre land for the same and sent a proposal to the UP government for approval.

The authorities have located an 1000-acre land for the proposed film city in Sector-21, having distance of 6 km from the Jewar International Airport and good road connectivity as well.

The YEIDA officials sent the proposal for land to the state government on Sunday.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had on September 18 announced setting up the country’s “biggest” and “most beautiful” film city in Noida or Greater Noida.

The proposed site in Sector 21, which falls along the Yamuna Expressway (Delhi-Agra), is 6 kilometres from the upcoming airport in Jewar and 12 kilometres from the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, according to the officials.

Recently, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar met UP CM and congratulated him for planning a film city in the Hindi belt region. He also assured full co-operation from the film fraternity.

Mr Bhandarkar said, “Yogi ji recently announced setting up of a film city in Noida, it is a great initiative. The film industry is really happy with the vision. I congratulated him for this initiative and it is very good that initiative like this is starting.”

Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut and singer Anup Jalota have already lauded the UP CM Yogi Adityanath for announcing plans to set up the country’s ‘biggest and most beautiful film city’ in Gautam Buddh Nagar district of UP.

“I applaud this announcement by @myogiadityanath ji. We need many reforms in the film industry first of all we need one big film industry called Indian film industry. We are divided based on many factors. Hollywood films get advantage of this. One industry but many film cities,” Kangana had tweeted.
