New Delhi: The political drama in Rajasthan refuses to fade, rather it continues to hog national limelight with new ‘gimmicks’ almost every another day.
Today, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot paraded his MLAs to the Governor’s residence. While the CM met Governor Kalraj Mishra, the MLAs raised slogans at the Raj Bhavan, to convene the Assembly session.
Rajasthan cabinet meet
Addressing the media, Congress national spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said that Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot wants to prove the majority in the House, adding that “we want to convene an assembly session to fight against coronavirus and for the people of the state.” He further claimed that his party has a full majority to prove on the floor of the House.
“We want to call Assembly Session to silence those who say Congress does not have majority. The Congress majority is standing here at the Governor’s house. We have a full majority. The Governor told us he will abide by the Constitution. He gave the Chief Minister a note that is to be looked into, then the Governor will have to follow Article 174 of Constitution. We believe the Governor. A state cabinet meeting will be held today at 9:30 pm, the note will be looked into and a reply will be sent to the Governor today itself,” Surjewala further said.

After the protest by Congress MLAs ended at Raj Bhavan, the governor Kalraj Mishra shot off a letter to CM Ashok Gehlot and termed it a ‘beginning of the wrong trend.’
He also highlighted the ‘gherao threat’issued to him by none other than Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot himself.

If you & your Home Ministry can’t protect Guv then what about law & order in State? What agency should be contacted for Governor’s security? I’ve never heard such statement from any CM. Is this not the beginning of a wrong trend where MLAs protest at Raj Bhawan?: Guv to CM (2/2)
