Ashok Gehlot meets Rajasthan Governor, claims support of 102 MLAs, submits list

Two MLAs of the Bhartiya Tribal Party (BTP), in a joint press conference with state Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasara on Saturday, said that they support the Ashok Gehlot government in Rajasthan.

New Delhi: Amid the ongoing political turmoil in Rajasthan, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday paid visit to Raj Bhawan and met Governor Kalraj Mishra, claiming to have support of 102 MLAs.

The meeting between Gehlot and Governor lasted for about 45 minutes.

Gehlot meets Governor

The development comes hours after two BTP MLAs assured their support to CM Ashok Gehlot.

Two MLAs of the Bhartiya Tribal Party (BTP), in a joint press conference with state Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasara on Saturday, said that they support the Ashok Gehlot government in Rajasthan.

Gehlot was also was seen receiving a letter of support from the MLAs in photos shared by his office.

Gehlot gets support from MLAs

However, the Raj Bhawan called it a courtesy meeting.

“Governor Kalraj Mishra on Saturday evening met Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in his official residence. It was a courtesy meeting. Mr Gehlot informed the Governor about the measures taken by the state government against the coronavirus pandemic. The meeting lasted 45 minutes,” the Governor’s office said in a Hindi statement.
