The 15 edition of the tournament will be played in classical ODI format in Pakistan and Sri Lanka, unlike the 14 edition of the tournament which was played in UAE in T-20 format. India had a rather disappointing outing last time by failing to qualify for the finals after losing their Super 4 matches against Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Sri Lanka won the last edition of the tournament after beating Pakistan in the finals. Notably, this year’s Asia Cup holds special importance, as this will be a tournament for all the sub-continent nations to check their prowess before the ICC ODI World Cup later this year.
