New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday addressed a press conference during which she announced the next set of stimulus package to boost the Covid-hit economy. The new announcements aim at benefitting companies and individuals, who lost their jobs due to Covid-19 induced lockdown.
The Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman pointed at recovery in energy consumption, bank credit, GST collections and daily railway freight as examples of the economy’s upward trend.
FM Sitharaman also said that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has predicted a strong likelihood of the Indian economy returning to positive growth in Q3:2020-21.
