Babri masjid demolition case verdict: Special CBI judge SK Yadav, in his 2,000 page verdict stated that demolition was not pre-planned and there was no criminal conspiracy behind it.

New Delhi: A Special CBI court in Lucknow pronounced the verdict in 28-year-old Babri Masjid demolition case. In a landmark order, it acquitted all the 32 accused accused of hatching criminal conspiracy behind the razing of Babri masjid on December 6, 1992.

The acquitted persons include LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti and others.

Special CBI judge SK Yadav, in his 2,000 page verdict stated that demolition was not pre-planned and there was no criminal conspiracy behind it.

The Babri masjid in Ayodhya was razed to the ground in December 1992 by Karsevaks who claimed that the land on which mosque was built was actually the birthplace of Hindu deity Lord Ram.

A total of 49 people were named as accused in the FIR lodged by the CBI, 17 of whom died during the course of the trial.
