Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar first choice for president candidate?

The only motive behind making such strategy is to have a strong candidate against the BJP, which can force the Congress to support the same.

New Delhi: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to contest the Presidential election? Presidential election is likely to take place in in June-July 2022.

According to reports, Opposition parties have started working on this plan as the President is indirectly elected by an electoral college consisting of the elected members of both the Houses of Parliament.

This started making headlines soon after, Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar Rao met his Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and NCP chief Sharad Pawar as part of their efforts to bring some like-minded parties together against the BJP.

It is also being said that the election strategist Prashant Kishor is behind this. Also, not to forget that plans about Nitish Kumar’s being the President candidate started when KCR and Prashant Kishor met in Hyderabad this month.

Also, poll-strategist Prashant Kishor had met Bihar CM Nitish Kumar had met him in Delhi on Monday (Feb 21) he had refuted the speculations of poll-strategist Prashant Kishor re-joining the JD(U) and said that it was a personal meeting and should not be seen with political colours.

It is also said that Prashant Kishor can become the successor of Nitish Kumar in Bihar.

Meanwhile, there has been no official information regarding this. In Bihar, there is a coalition government of Nitish Kumar’s party and BJP. While, the tussle between Nitish’s JDU and BJP continues over the caste census. RJD is in favour of Nitish on this issue. Also, a meeting between Tejashwi Yadav and K Chandrashekhar Rao had taken place earlier.

It is also said that for now the strategy is being made for a strong presidential election. It is also reported that, preparations are being made to add West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in this plan. Also, work is under process to add some more regional parties to this campaign.
