Bihar Elections 2020: After BJP’s crackdown, JD(U) expels 15 rebel party leaders

Taking strong objection to their rebellious attitude, the Janata Dal (United) today expelled 15 leaders for 6 years and that includes sitting MLA Dadan Pahlavan also.

New Delhi: The political heat in Bihar is soaring with each passing day. A day after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) expelled its 9 leaders for anti-party activities, Nitish Kumar-led JD(U) has cracked down on more than a dozen rebels.

Taking strong objection to their rebellious attitude, the party today expelled 15 leaders for 6 years and that includes sitting MLA Dadan Pahlavan also.

Other high-profile leaders who were shown the door include former minister Rameshwar Paswan, former minister Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha, former MLA Ranvijay Singh, former MLA Sumit Kumar Singh, former chairperson of Women’s Cell Kanchan Kumari Gupta.

Pramod Singh Chandravanshi, Arun Kumar, Amresh Chaudhary, Shiv Shankar Chaudhary, Sindhu Paswan, Kartar Singh, Rakesh Ranjan, Mungeri Paswan and Tajammul Khan have also been expelled for anti-party activities. Bihar JD(U) President Vasistha Narayan Singh has issued orders for their expulsion.

Yesterday, BJP expelled 9 rebels who were contesting against NDA candidates on LJP tickets. Deputy CM Sushil Modi had last week warned the rebels to ‘come back to the fold or be prepared to face expulsion’.

Bihar elections for 243 Assembly constituencies are scheduled to be held in 3 phases and results would be declared on November 10.
