Bihar elections 2020: Onions hurled at CM Nitish Kumar at Madhubani poll rally (VIDEO)

An unidentified man in the crowd started throwing stones and onions towards the stage. However, the chief minister was unhurt in the attack as his security cover surrounded him on the stage.

New Delhi: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who has been facing wrath of people at election rallies, on Tuesday came under ‘onion attack’ while addressing a public gathering in Madhubani district.

While CM Nitish Kumar was addressing election rally, stones and onions were thrown at the Janata Dal (United) chief.

The incident happened when the JD(U) chief was talking about employment the issue while addressing an election rally in Madhubani district.

An unidentified man in the crowd started throwing stones and onions towards the stage. However, the chief minister was unhurt in the attack as his security cover surrounded him on the stage.

While security personnel on the spot tried to stop him, the person kept screaming “liquor is being smuggled and sold openly and you did not succeed in stopping it”.

When security guards came forward, the Chief Minister stopped them and said: “Let him throw as much as he wants. Throw as much as you want”.

Unfazed by the attack, Nitish Kumar told the person to keep hurling objects at him.

However, this is not the first time that Nitish Kumar has faced heckling at election rallies. Earlier, at a poll, slippers were flung at him while at others he was booed by people among the crowd.

Days ago, a slipper was thrown at Bihar CM by some protestors on Monday while he was going towards his helicopter after addressing rally in Muzaffarpur.

At an election rally, some people shouted slogans against him and in favour of RJD. This resulted in Nitish Kumar losing his cool and giving the hooligans a dressing down.
