New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced names of 9 candidates from Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections.

The list of candidates for Rajya Sabha was released by BJP General Secretary Arun Singh on Monday.

8 candidates announced from Uttar Pradesh include Hardeep Singh Puri, Arun Singh, Haridwar Dubey, Brijlal, Neeraj Shekhar, Geeta Shakya, BL Verma, Seema Dwivedi while Naresh Bansal is the BJP candidate from Uttarakhand.

The last date for filing nominations for the seat is October 27.

Polling for 9 Rajya Sabha seats will be held on November 9. According to reports, its going to be a cakewalk for 8 BJP candidates while on 1 seat, there may be a contest.

Naresh Bansal’s victory from Uttarakhand seems to be a foregone conclusion as the party has 57 members in 70 seats Assembly.
