Boys locker room: Delhi students create group to share lewd photos, chats on classmates, Police says looking into controversy
New Delhi: leaked screenshots from an online group named ‘bois locker room’ allegedly involving teenage boys from Delhi talking about rape, sexual objectification and slut-shaming of schoolgirls have gone viral on Indian social media. Delhi Police has filed cases linked to the Instagram group, which has now been deactivated.
On Sunday, Leaked screenshots of the private Instagram chat group have stirred up a storm over rape culture in the country after numerous boys were seen sharing photos of underage girls, objectifying them, and planning ‘gang rapes’.
The group was also allegedly used to share nude/morphed photographs of the women.
They show members of the group – said to be students from some of Delhi’s top schools – posting photos of teenage girls without their consent along with comments too crude to be reproduced.
Here are some screenshots of the group:
Here’s how activists reacted:
Thread: Students who are 16, 17 years old, are casually talking of gang raping girls and women, swapping nudes without the consent of these women on Reddit, with not even a hint of fear of exposure. The dire crisis of rape womxn face, starts with this rape culture #boyslockerroom
