BTP pulls out of Gehlot government in Rajasthan, withdraws its 2 MLAs

BTP withdrew its 2 MLAs from Gehlot government, however, this doesn’t put latter at any risk as Congress has around 118 MLAs in 200-member assembly.

New Delhi: Ashok Gehlot government received another blow on Friday, with Bharatiya Tribal Party (BTP) withdrawing support from state govt.

Yesterday, Congress party lost to BJP in Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad elections, despite its support to farmers protesting against new farm laws.

BTP withdrew its 2 MLAs from Gehlot government, however, this doesn’t put latter at any risk as Congress has around 118 MLAs in 200-member assembly.

BTP extended support to Ashok Gehlot govt during confidence vote earlier this year.

The two MLA had supported Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in August when his government was under a political crisis after former deputy CM Sachin Pilot rebelled.

Election to posts of ‘pramukh’ and ‘pradhan’ were held in 20 zila parishad and 221 gram panchayat, respectively.

Not long ago, Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot had alleged that BJP was making fresh attempt to topple Congress government in Rajasthan.
