New Delhi: Rising cases of sexual harassment and molestation in Rajasthan have exposed the good governance claims of Ashok Gehlot government. Such incidents, happening at intermittent intervals speak volumes about the glaring loopholes in governance and the slack administration.
More than flagrant abuse of law, what is of utter concern is the race to build a fake narrative to put Gehlot regime in good light. Not just many cases go unreported but also there has no action against the perpetrators, thus enraging the local population.
However, when such incidents occur, the whole Congress leadership shifts focus and turns up the heat on Yogi government. Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi take no time in visiting the victims’ place to share their pain if molestation case pertains to any other state like Uttar Pradesh but when it comes to Rajasthan, they turn a blind eye to it. Many Twitter users today called out such ‘biased’ behaviour by top Congress leaders including the Gandhis.

Woman gangraped in front of husband in Baran
A woman was allegedly gang-raped in front of her husband in Rajasthan’s Baran district last week. The victim was returning late Saturday evening, along with her husband, from Kamkheda Dham in Jhalawar district when 5 people on bikes intercepted their vehicle.
The husband was tied with the victim’s saree and she was raped in front of him. SP Vineet Bansal said, “The hands and feet of the victim’s husband were tied when the police arrived at the spot. The younger brother of her ex-husband is one of the accused.”
ACP sought sexual favours, caught red-handed
In a shameful incident in Jaipur, an Assistant Commission of Police (ACP) was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) as he was caught asking for sexual favours from rape victim for speedy probe in the case.
According to ACB DG BL Soni, the accused ACP was identified as Kailash Bohra. He was posted in special investigation unit, women & children.
Last week, a sub-inspector (SI) level officer was arrested in Alwar for raping a woman. Another ASI was suspended over sexual harassment charges.
Enraged netizens slam Gehlot govt, ‘Bunty & Babli’
Quite a few cases of policemen turning predators have come to light in last few weeks and months but the state government has remained indifferent to victim’s complaints. Today, Rajasthan figures among top states in ‘crimes against women’. And, the anger against this is palpable in below tweets.
