New Delhi: Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a junior engineer of Uttar Pradesh irrigation department for alleged sexual abuse of around 50 children. Accused allegedly shared child sexual abuse material with other paedophiles across globe on the darknet, said officials.

The accused junior engineer is a resident of District Chitrakoot (Uttar Pradesh). Searches were conducted at the residence of accused which led to recovery of cash of Rs 8 lakh (approx.), mobile phones, laptops, web-camera and several sex toys. The accused allegedly used electronic items and gadgets to lure children falling in the age group of 5-16 years, said CBI

The junior engineer allegedly abused children across three districts of the state – Chitrakoot, Banda and Hamirpur. The accused was arrested from Banda and is likely to be produced before a court.
