Chhath Puja: CM Yogi calls for maximum caution in wake of Covid-19

Chhath Puja: Laying out roadmap for fight against deadly virus, CM Yogi Adityanath instructed officials to carry out contact tracing effectively and also set a target of conducting 65,000 – 70,000 RTPCR tests and 90,000 to 1.10 lakh rapid antigen tests on a daily basis.

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday exhorted people to exercise maximum caution in wake of resurgence of Covid-19. The Chief Minister asked people to maintain complete caution during Chhath festival and said that even a little bit of carelessness could prove costly.

The Chief Minister said this while presiding over an unlock review meeting at his official residence today. CM Yogi instructed officials to ensure effective cleaning of ghats during the Chhath festival. He said that medical testing has an important role in breaking the chain of Covid-19 and the testing should also be carried out with full capacity.

The Chief Minister also directed that the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) should work actively. The District Magistrates and the Chief Medical Officers of all districts should regularly hold a review meeting at the Covid-19 hospital in the morning and at the ICCC in the evening.

Directing to spread awareness through various publicity mediums as well as public address systems, the CM said that until an effective medicine or vaccine is available for Covid-19, prevention is the best cure and people should be continuously made aware about keeping themselves safe from infection.

The Chief Minister also directed officials to ensure treatment facility at all Covid hospitals and medical colleges are running in full steam. He ordered regular review of availability of resources in hospitals.
