New Delhi: Military chopper with CDS Bipin Rawat and his wife crashed n Tamil Nadu. CDS Gen Bipin Rawat, his staff and some family members were in the chopper. It is said that the chopper crashed landed after a technical engine failure.

According to reports, thirteen out of fourteen have been declared dead. To identify the body, DNA tests will be conducted.

CDS General Bipin Rawat’s wife Mrs Madhulika Rawat, his DA Brigadier LS Lidder, his SO Lieutenant Colonel Harjinder Singh were among the 14 people, including five crew members on board the chopper that crashed.


According to the locals, they saw burning bodies falling from the chopper, also few bodies were seen downhill in the area of the accident.

Soon after the crash, Military launched search and rescue operations.

According to reports, CDS was returning after giving a lecture from a event.

IAF orders ascertain the cause of the accident:

An Inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident, said Indian Air Force.
