CM Yogi addresses public meet at Barabanki, says this poll is to clean garbage & anarchy of SP-BSP: CM Yogi

The Chief Minister also stressed the growing global stature of India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, mentioning in this context, India getting an opportunity to head the G-20, the group of 20 most powerful countries for one year.

Lucknow: Lashing out at Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav for calling the civic body elections ‘an election for garbage collection’ , Chief Minister Yogi Adiyanath on Monday stated, “his statement is an insult to six crore people. Rather, this is an election to clean the garbage, filth and anarchy of SP-BSP.’”

Addressing a public meeting in Barabanki ahead of municipal election the CM said, “Prior to 2017, every city had virtually turned into a garbage dump. The cities were identified by piles of garbage in them. You must have read the statement of the President of Samajwadi Party today. He said that he is not interested in municipal elections because it is an election for garbage collection. That is, picking up garbage is against their reputation”, CM Yogi remarked.

Use of such words by a person who has been the Chief Minister of a state like Uttar Pradesh is an insult to the six crore people living in urban areas of the state, he added, pointing out that “this is not garbage, rather it is an election to ‘clean the garbage, filth and anarchy of SP-BSP, ” he added.

“On the contrary, we are contesting the municipal elections as we strive to make our cities smart and safe and to improve the quality of life of people by providing basic amenities. The BJP Government is working towards making urban life clean, beautiful, and safe. Therefore, the party has come to appeal to you to vote for the BJP candidates in the municipal bodies elections to bring about comprehensive change in the standard of living of the people as well as to provide them with the benefits of welfare schemes,” he added further.

Uttar Pradesh is moving forward by making Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision a mission, said the CM. The Chief Minister also stressed the growing global stature of India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, mentioning in this context, India getting an opportunity to head the G-20, the group of 20 most powerful countries for one year.

He attacked the opposition parties by saying that the people of the Samajwadi Party (SP), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), and Congress were following a policy of appeasement and used to divide the society on the basis of caste.
According to the CM, the government was providing benefits of welfare schemes to everyone today, without any kind of discrimination and with the sentiment of development for all. “We did not allow favouritism to flourish, rather we focused on empowering society, and today, the results of that are visible.” He said that in 1947, when the country became independent, not many people could celebrate the occasion, but today every Indian joined together to celebrate the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence under the leadership of PM Modi, he asserted.

In the first year of India’s Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, India is currently chairing the G-20, which is a group of 20 most powerful countries in the world where 65 percent of the world’s population lives and that have control over more than 50 percent of the world’s resources. The G-20 also has the right to more than 90 percent of the world’s patents.

Not only that, during the Russo-Ukrainian War, Indian citizens were evacuated for the first time from Ukraine by the government. India also launched Operation Cactus recently to rescue Indian citizens who were stranded in civil war-torn Sudan.

In previous governments, special privileges were given to specific families. “Respecting everyone’s feelings and faith, the Double Engine government is working to connect millions of people in the country with free housing, toilets, and employment opportunities through programs like Skill Development, Startup India, Standup India, and Skill India”, said CM Yogi.

He further added that Jan Dhan bank accounts of crores of people have been opened in the country whereas a health insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh was also being provided under Ayushman Bharat. Besides, since the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic until now, 80 crore people have been provided free rations while 220 crore vaccine doses were also given for free.

Similarly, millions of people in the state are benefiting from poverty alleviation schemes without any discrimination. Infrastructure development projects such as expressways, highways, airports, medical colleges, engineering colleges, degree colleges, polytechnics, and hospitals are progressing on war-footing in the state.

At the same time, the heritage of Uttar Pradesh is also being respected. The construction of a grand temple at Lord Ram’s birthplace in Ayodhya, which has been awaited for the past 500 years, is underway. Today, the construction of Kashi Vishwanath Dham is underway in Varanasi. Meanwhile, Mathura and Vrindavan are adorned and beautified. Along with this, the work of decorating and beautifying Naimisharanya, Vindhya Vasini Dham, BalMiki’s Lalapur in Chitrakoot, and Sant Tulsidas’s Rajapur is being done.

The CM said that the Bharatiya Janata Party is taking development works forward. It is with the efforts of the double engine government that Purvanchal Expressway and the Bundelkhand Expressway connect eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bundelkhand regions with other parts of the state, while the work of Ganga Expressway is going on a war footing. Airports are being built in the state. Barabanki also has two international airports located close to the district, one of which is located in Lucknow, and the other is being built in Ayodhya.
