New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh government has given go-ahead for adding extra layer of security cover for Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who is not only the most popular but also most loved among his contemporaries.
UP cabinet on Friday approved an amendment to green-book to further tighten the security of Chief Minister by changing the composition of his fleet and adding additional level to the motorcade.
The decision to strengthen security of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath comes in the backdrop of security threats. The security agencies have also warned of terror groups hatching plot to harm the Chief Minister. Recently, an international plot was unraveled on its plan to instigate violence and riots in Hathras and other towns of the state.
Yogi’s security on lines of PM Modi’s security ring
The proposal to step up security of UP CM was sent by Security headquarters and it suggested changes in Yogi Adityanath’s motorcade. Since this required approval from the state govt, it was cleared by the UP cabinet today.
The changes in security will be on the lines of the PM’s security ring and would require keeping the replacement vehicle closer to the CM from where it had been positioned earlier, a leading portal reported quoting ADG security Binod Kumar Singh.
Yogi Adityanath’s security was earlier reviewed in 2017, the year he got elected to office. That time also, some changes were made in the Green Book.
