CM Yogi launches Mobile App, providing people access to UP govt directory

Speaking at the launch event, Yogi Adityanath praised the information department for the innovative digital directory app and said that it will help people connect to their representatives and officials of government departments.

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a mobile application on Thursday that gives people access to state government’s directory.

This will be serve as one-stop platform on everybody’s mobile phones, from where people can access information about all information related to state government departments and officials.

Officials of the all the state government department can be contacted through the UPIDINFO App. One can download it free of cost from Google Playstore.

Speaking at the launch event, Yogi Adityanath praised the information department for the innovative digital directory app and said that it will help people connect to their representatives and officials of government departments.

“In the era of technology, we also need to change accordingly. It is only because of technology that all the schemes and benefits of the state government have been made available to people during the corona pandemic,” he said.

“We can provide better facilities to people with technology… people can get pension in their Jan-Dhan account while sitting at home. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it has become possible to provide help to 2.35 crore people every month through technology,” CM Yogi said.

The directory also contains information of Union ministers, CM Yogi added.

Additional chief secretary of information department, Navneet Sehgal said, “Anyone can download the UPIDINFO app through play store on a mobile phone and it is free. Till now, everyone was not able to get access to it (directory).”

The Chief Minister also unveiled a special cover of the Indian Postal Department. The special cover is dedicated to memories of Brahmalin Mahant Avaidyanath, who was the main priest of Gorakhnath Temple and represented Gorakhpur as MP for five terms.

“The effort of the Postal department will help in carrying forward our heritage and tradition. It will also help our future generations know about our ancestors,” Yogi said.
