CM Yogi reviews ‘Saharanpur revamp’ plan, calls for kick-starting infra projects stuck due to Covid-19

UP CM Yogi Adityanath reviewed developmental projects in Saharanpur division and called for kick-starting infrastructure projects which were stuck due to Covid-19.

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday reviewed the developmental works in Saharanpur division and called for expediting ongoing infrastructure projects while also kick-starting those which have been stuck due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking to officials via video conference from his residence, the Chief Minister asked them to ensure time-bound delivery and quality control of all the planned development projects. He also assured them there won’t be any shortage of funds for carrying out these activities.

Highlighting about immense potential in the region, CM Yogi asked the officials to prepare detailed plan for development projects and submit it before state govt.

Yogi Adityanath sought swift implementation of projects under the Smart City Mission and Atal Mission for Rejuvenation of Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme.

The Chief Minister instructed officials to get the Saharanpur University formed and functioning in shortest possible time. He also called for swift movement, with regards to secondary education and minorities welfare.
Underlining the need for speeding up infrastructure projects, the CM said that works stuck due to Covid-19 should start moving.

“If land is required for some project, it should be made available. Construction of community toilets or Gram Panchayat Secretariat should be addressed at the earliest. Local residents should be encouraged to produce selected goods, for which some exhibition could also be held,” CM Yogi said.

CM Yogi said that agriculture holds immense potential in making the nation self-reliant. He called for co-ordinated approach of agriculture, industry and infrastructure to lay the foundation of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat.’

Maa Shakumbhri Devi Shakti Peetha is one of the oldest temple of Saharanpur. The devotees have strong faith in Goddess Shakumbhri and the temple attracts a large number of devotees from across the country during Navratree days.

In the video conference, the Chief Minister also stressed upon the beautification of temple and widening of roads around it to make ‘darshan’ more comfortable for devotees.

Shukra Teerth is another major pilgrimage city near Muzaffarnagar of Uttar Pradesh, where devotees descend in large numbers for ‘Ganga Snan’ during Kartik Purnima Mela.
