Congress poses 7 questions after Nadda tore into Rahul Gandhi for ‘demoralizing the nation’
Congress jumped to Rahul Gandhi's defence after the BJP chief slammed him for skipping defence panel meets but not missing an opportunity to question the valour of armed forces.
New Delhi: BJP President JP Nadda on Monday slammed Rahul Gandhi for latter’s repeated targeting of government over the ongoing India-China border dispute.
Nadda said that Rahul Gandhi doesn’t attend single meeting of Parliament’s standing committee on defence but continues to ‘demoralize’ the nation and question the valour of security forces.
This drew sharp reactions from Congress, which described Nadda’s remarks as a “silly distraction” from the focus on the government’s “mishandling” of the Covid-19 pandemic and the transgressions by Chinese troops in Ladakh.
Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala posted a series of tweets, targeting the BJP.
Surjewala said that his “insidious comments” are making him look like a poorer version of “malicious BJP spokespersons”.

1. “Is cutting ₹11,000 CR of ‘Dearness Pay’ of 15 Lakh Members of our Armed Forces & 26 Lakh Military Pensioners (from 1/1/2020 to 30/6/2021) Modi Govt’s way of encouragement or a Machiavellian hit job?”
2. “Did the Estimates Committee of Parliament headed by Ex BJP President, Sh. M.M.Joshi submit a report citing that Defence Expenditure was ‘lowest since 1962’-lowest in 56 yrs? Is this Modi Govt’s way of enhacing the morale of our Armed Forces?”
3. “Did the Standing Commiittee on Defence headed by Gen BC Khanduri not hold that 68% of our ‘equipment is vintage’ & there are insufficient resources for ‘construction of strategic roads on China Border’? Did Modi Govt listen to Defence Committee?”
