Court jamadar dons PayTm code on waist to seek tips from lawyers in Allahabad HC, sacked

As per the notification, the jamadar will remain attached to Nazarat section of the court and won’t have permission to leave the station without prior approval.

New Delhi: The Allahabad High Court on Thursday suspended a jamadar for openly seeking tips from lawyers inside the court premises. He also found an innovative means for drawing monetary aid from the laywers and was seen flashing a PayTm code on his waist.

The disciplinary action was taken after his photo went viral on social media.

In the photograph that got widely shared, the jamadar of Allahabad High Court can be seen flashing the PayTm QR code on his waist and a lawyer was also reportedly seen giving tip to him by scanning the code.

The Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court ordered action against High Court employee. The Suspension order read, “Sri Rajendra Kumar-I, Emp. No. 5098, Bundle Lifter, attached as Court Jamadar with His Lordship is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect.”
