Covid-19 recoveries surpass 41 lakh, recovery rate improves to 78.86%

According to Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), over 1,06,000 tests were conducted during last 24 hours. The total number of samples tested so far has gone up to over 6.15 crore.

New Delhi: Highest single day recovery of 87,472 cases were reported in last 24 hours, pushing the recovery rate further to 78.86%.

According to official figures, the total number of recoveries has crossed 41 lakh mark. This has also ensured that the actual caseload of the country goes down. Today, it comprises only 19.52 per cent of the total positive cases. Total number of active cases stand at 10.17 lakh.

Because of government’s focused implementation of ‘Test-Track and Treat’ approach, the recoveries have been rising while fatality dipping. Currently, India’s Case Fatality Rate is at 1.62 per cent, which is one of the lowest globally. In past 24 hours, 1,174 deaths were reported taking the toll to 84,372.

Record 7 lakh Covid-19 tests conducted in a day, recovery rate rises to 69%

Lab network is also constantly expanding, which in turn ramped up testing. Today, with 1,060 government labs and 704 private labs, a total of 1,1764 are providing comprehensive testing facilities to the people.
