Delhi Congress chief booked for lockdown violation, assembling migrants at Delhi-UP border

According to police, the Delhi Cong chief allegedly brought many migrant labourers to Delhi-UP border and there was open violation of social distancing norms.

New Delhi: Delhi Congress president Anil Chaudhary was arrested on Sunday and later released on bail for calling many migrant labourers to Ghazipur.

According to police, the Delhi Cong chief allegedly brought many migrant labourers to Delhi-UP border and there was open violation of social distancing norms.

Later, a case was registered against Anil Chaudhary and some party workers for flouting lockdown norms under Section 188 of IPC.

The FIR was filed based on a complaint by sub-inspector Anuj Kumar, who alleged that he found groups of migrants walking from Delhi to the Ghazipur border at NH-24 Sunday.

Delhi Cong chief later said in a statement said that the Congress is doing what BJP and CM Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP have failed to do in the national capital. He alleged that Congress leaders are being harassed for helping the migrants.
