New Delhi: A day after Congress leaders met President Ram Nath Kovind and sought his intervention in controlling the violence in North-East Delhi, the BJP hit back at Sonia Gandhi and accused the party leaders of instigating the rioters.
In a sharp tirade, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad questioned the ‘Rajdharma’ of Congress and its interim president Sonia Gandhi while recalling the latter’s speech at Ramlila Maidan.
“Sonia Gandhi urged the people to hit the streets and launch a ‘fight to finish’. Is this not an attempt to incite and provoke people?,” asked Ravi Shankar Prasad.

Yesterday, a Congress delegation led by Sonia Gandhi met President Ram Nath Kovind and demanded resignation of Home Minister Amit Shah for ‘abject failure’ in controlling the mindless violence in Delhi. Quoting Vajpayee government, she also reminded the Centre of practising ‘Rajdharma’ in such alarming situations.
Keeping up the attack, Prasad asked Congress why it adopts double standards, stoops too low for scoring political points even when situation calls for putting up a united face. Quoting Indira and Rajiv government’s people outreach policies, he said that history speaks for itself and Congress must see itself in the mirror on Rajdharma.
“Sonia Gandhi, please don”t preach us ”rajdharma”; your record is full of twists and turns,” Prasad said, while adding that NPR was started by the Congress-led regime.

“If Congress does something, it is good. But if we do the same thing, they provoke the people. What type of rajdharma is this?” he asked.
He also accused the Congress party of its doing flip-flop on granting citizenship to persecuted minorities from the neighbouring countries.
