Delhi: Three men robbed a house to buy expensive gifts for girlfriend; arrested

Police have arrested three men who robbed a man in his house in Delhi, to but expensive gifts for girlfriend.

Following a robbery of a man in his house in southwest Delhi’s Sarojini Nagar area, three men were arrested by the Delhi police. Among them, one had previously served sentence in prison, also planned the robbery this time to please his girlfriend by buying expensive gifts who was upset with him.

The police have identified the accused as Shubham (20), a resident of R K Puram, Asif (19), a resident of Nizamuddin, and Mohammad Shariful Mulla (41), a resident of Jamia Nagar.

A special team was created to gather CCTV footage to identify the criminals; however, there were no cameras in the neighbourhood, reported police.

Mr. Kumar during the investigation stated that the criminals were referring to one of them as Shubham. The police went through the 150 dossiers of criminals with the name Shubham and identified the accused.

Delhi man robbed

The police reported that the victim named Aditya Kumar filed a complaint which stated that around 3:30 PM when he was alone in the house, some people rang his doorbell, and on opening the door, they entered the house forcefully keeping him at the gunpoint. Mr. Kumar works in Pitampura as the CEO of a multinational company, said DCP Southwest Delhi Gaurav Sharma.

Reportedly, the victim was beaten up when he tried to resist the criminals. The accused tied him up and took away his laptop, mobile phone, one bag containing his clothes, jacket, shoes, wristwatch, etc, and his scooter.

Later, he was able to untie himself and called his neighbours via Facebook operating through the shared laptop. The neighbours then informed the police.

Besides, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (southwest) Gaurav Sharma stated that Shubham was caught along with his associates who were riding the stolen scooter in the Sarojini Nagar area.

The police said, previously, Shubham was involved in two crimes, Asif and Mulla in three crimes each.

Further, the police said, two scooters, one laptop, four robbed mobile phones, one bag along with clothes and shoes, and one wristwatch were recovered from their possession.
