New Delhi: The Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, has announced that a Special Investigative Team (SIT) will be investigating the case of Disha Salian’s death. Deceased Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s manager, Disha Salian, was found dead on 8 June 2020. This indicates that the case is being reopened after the announcement during the Winter Session of Maharashtra’s Assembly. BJP MLA Nitesh Rane has raised the issue of Disha Salian’s death and demanded a narco test of former Maharashtra minister Aaditya Thackeray.
Fadnavis, in Vidhan Sabha, said that the Mumbai Police has already investigated the case and now it will be probed by SIT. He said that those of who have proof in the case can furnish it. When the Leader of Opposition Ajit Pawar raised questions on the case being viewed from a political angle, Fadnavis assured that the probe will be done in an impartial manner.
Nitesh Rane has, on several occasions, claimed that Disha Salian was murdered and claims to have evidence to support his words. Rane said Disha Salian’s boyfriend Rohan Rai knew everything about the case and disappeared after her death.
Disha Salian died after falling off the 14th floor of a building and a week later, actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging at his residence. The ‘how’ and the ‘why’ in Disha’s case are unknown as of now.
Mumbai Police closed the case in 2021, citing no evidence of foul play. The investigating officer also sent a report to the ACP. There were rumours of Disha Salian being allegedly assaulted, but her father denied such rumours.
