Double blow to Mamata: Suvendu Adhikar quits TMC, Jitendra Tiwari resigns as Mayor

I am thankful for all the challenges and opportunities that have been afforded to me and I will always value my time spent as a member of the party, wrote Suvendu

New Delhi: Suvendu Adhikari tendered his resignation as a member of TMC as well as from other positions in the party to West Bengal CM & TMC Chairperson Mamata Banerjee. There are speculations that Adhikari is likely to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) soon.

Suvendu Adhikari’s resignation letter reads, “I am writing to tender my resignation as a member of TMC as well as from all positions held by me in the party and its associate organs with immediate effect.”

“I am thankful for all the challenges and opportunities that have been afforded to me and I will always value my time spent as a member of the party,”

Yesterday, TMC leader Suvendu Adhikari tenders his resignation from the membership of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly.

Earlier, Adhikari resigned as Minister of Transport, Irrigation, and Waterways on November 27 over differences with the party leadership, triggering speculation that he may quit the ruling TMC ahead of the next year’s Assembly polls.

Adhikari who had been disgruntled with the TMC had resigned from the State Cabinet last month. For several months Adhikari had been pursuing an ‘Ekla Cholo Rey’ (to walk alone) and was seen attending programmes in the state which did not have party’s name or symbol.

It looks like that a resignation train has been started from the TMC and many of the members want to grab the seats.

TMC leader Jitendra Tiwari tendered his resignation from the post of Chairman, Board of Administrators, Asansol Municipal Corporation.

Chairman of South Bengal State Transport Corporation (SBSTC) Col. (R) Diptangshu Choudhary also tendered his resignation to Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee.
