Dr Singh belongs to party, which surrendered 43,000 km of Indian territory to Chinese:JP Nadda hits back

BJP chief JP Nadda posted a series of tweets to counter Manmohan Singh’s criticism of Modi govt over handling of Ladakh confrontation.

New Delhi: BJP President JP Nadda on Monday launched a scathing attack on former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh over the latter’s statement on Ladakh face-off.

In a sharp retort to Manmohan’s jibe, the BJP chief said that Dr Singh as prime minister “abjectly surrendered” hundreds of square kilometres of India’s land to China and presided over 600 incursions made by the neighbouring country between 2010 and 2013.

In his first remarks on Ladakh face-off, Dr Manmohan Singh said that PM Modi must be mindful of the implications of his words and cannot allow China to use them as a vindication of its position.

Noting that disinformation is no substitute for diplomacy or decisive leadership, Singh called upon the prime minister to ensure justice for soldiers who died defending India’s territorial integrity.

“To do any less would be a historic betrayal of the people’s faith,” Dr Singh said in a statement.

Further berating the Congress party for raising questions at Galwan valley face-off to lower the morale of forces, Nadda said, “Dr. Manmohan Singh belongs to the same party which: Helplessly surrendered over 43,000 KM of Indian territory to the Chinese!”

‘Opposition ‘demoralizing’ the country and its armed forces’

Yesterday, BJP president JP Nadda flayed the Congress and other opposition parties for raising various questions on the India-China face offs at Gulwan Valley in Eastern Ladakh, which, he said, would only “lower the morale of the Indian armed forces.”

He also hit out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for using negative language and baseless logic on the Galwan Valley issue.
