The audio tape, accessed by OpIndia, gives an account of an unknown individual persuading Hathras victim’s brother Sandeep to stay at home as Priyanka Gandhi will be visiting them and also asking him not to settle the matter with compensation.

New Delhi: The gruesome ‘gangrape’ of 19-year-old girl in Hathras and her subsequent death a fortnight later in Delhi has sent shockwaves across the nation. But, this hasn’t dissuaded political parties from using it as political fodder and trading charges to score political points.

In a shocking revelation, an audio tape of Hathras is doing rounds which seems to establish some underlying deliberate attempt by the Opposition to blow up the issue for maligning the state government.

The audio tape, accessed by OpIndia, gives an account of an unknown individual persuading Hathras victim’s brother Sandeep to stay at home as Priyanka Gandhi will be visiting them and also asking him not to settle the matter with compensation.

In the audio tape, the person could be heard telling Sandeep, “If anyone wishes to take you anywhere, you must not go, now Priyanka Gandhi will come to your house. Someone says you should go to Hathras, somewhere here, somewhere there, you must not go.”

“Say that the police and the media are not allowing your relatives to come, that they have been kept for your protection or for Thakur’s. Tell them everything that has happened to you,” the man tells Sandeep.

He further tells Sandeep “Alright, don’t go anywhere. Now Priyanka Gandhi will come and tell her that pressure has been created on you and you want to create a video of that.”

The online portal in another audio tape claims that victim’s brother is being advised that he should not accept Rs. 25 lakhs and reach a conclusion. He is told that he should even accept Rs. 50 lakh to reach a conclusion.
