PM Modi’s ‘thick-skinned’ joke lightened up mood
As PM Modi arrived early this morning for taking the vaccine, the medical staff at AIIMS were apparently nervous and overwhelmed at the same time.
Sister P Niveda from Puducherry and another sister from Kerala, administered the 1st dose of Covaxin to PM Modi. They learnt today morning only that PM Modi was coming for vaccination.
Took my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS.
Remarkable how our doctors and scientists have worked in quick time to strengthen the global fight against COVID-19.

As PM Modi reached the vaccination centre, he instantly struck a conversation with the medical staff and enquired from them, their names and places of origin. This lightened up the atmosphere and put them at ease.
PM Modi also cracked a joke to the nurses, asking whether she would use a needle meant for veterinary purposes.
The nurses said no, however, they didn’t fully understand the question. PM Modi then explained that politicians are known to be very thick-skinned and hence were they also planning to use some special thick needles for him. On hearing this, the sisters had a hearty laugh.
‘Laga bhi diya aur pata bhi nahin chala’
Then as the vaccination was done, he remarked that he didn’t even realize when it got done.
