‘If you want ad, show my govt with positive stories and stop negative!’: Mamata Banerjee to newspaper in West Bengal (VIDEO)

Mamata Banerjee to Local Newspaper: You need to publish positive news about the Govt to get ads.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee who had recently interacted with the with journalists claimed that local newspapers can get more ads only if they publish more “positive news” about  Bengal government.

She had said this after a local journalist said that their rural newspaper doesn’t get a lot of advertising.

This came in response to a local journalist telling Banerjee that their rural newspaper is not getting enough advertising.

Replying in Bangla, Mamata can be heard saying that she will tell DM personally to give you advertisements only if you happen to publish more positive news about things that the government is doing.

She further said that the Government doesn’t publicise its good deeds and work using its own machinery.

CM also asked the local journalist to send a copy of their newspaper to the district magistrate’s office to check whether you are publishing positive or negative news. Only after the assessment she would decide if the media house should gets more ads.

She also suggested local newspapers to hold a meeting to showcase the positive development work undertaken by her government, to receive ads in return.

West Bengal is shown in a negative light continuously, so its very much important for media to cover positive news.
