In MP, Congress MLA waves gun while shaking a leg in party; Video surfaces

As the abuse of power by Congress MLA became talking point, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra told the media that police have been told to act against the ‘errant’ legislator.

New Delhi: Suneel Saraf, Congress legislator in Madhya Pradesh, invited trouble for himself on New Year, as a video of his brandishing a gun surfaced on the social media.

The MLA from Kotma constituency was seen dancing at a private party along with others. However, as people grooved to music, he was seen brandishing a gun on stage and even reportedly firing a gunshot in air.

In the video that surfaced, Suneel Saraf could be seen holding a hand gun while dancing along with others on the stage.

Inebriated MLA & ‘celebratory firing’

Some reports claimed that the incident happened during a private ceremony of the legislator. On January 1, the MLA Suneel Saraf was ringing in his birthday with friends when the viral footage was recorded.

To celebrate MLA’s birthday, couple of party workers & leaders had assembled at his house. While his well-wishers and fellow partymen rejoiced in the festivities, the MLA resorted to ‘celebratory firing’ and reportedly fired gunshots in air. No one was hurt or injured in the firing.

The Congress MLA was grooving while the organizers played Bollywood song in the background. When a song ‘Main Hoon don’, he went all out dancing to the song lyrics & also flashing his gun. He also fired a shot in the air.


Someone in the party recorded a video of the incident and posted it on social media. Since then, the Cong MLA has been facing intense criticism.
