In review meet, CM Yogi calls for expediting smart city projects in Bareilly; city to have a textile park soon

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today reviewed development projects of Bareilly Division comprising Bareilly, Pilibhit, Badaun and Shahjahanpur districts.

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said that Bareilly, true to its traditions, will soon have a Textile Park. All hurdles in this regard have been removed and the work is likely to commence soon, he said while stating that after agriculture the textiles is the most employment-oriented sector.

He said that all the districts of Bareilly have rich social- cultural resources which promise great potential of development. The Smart City project of Bareilly should be executed in expeditious manner so that it sets an example. He also asked to expedite road projects and warned that no road construction project should remain pending, especially in Pilibhit being the border district.

“We see huge growth potential for the technical textile industry in India. With 12 segments of technical textiles and a market size of ₹1,16,000 crore, it is projected to grow 20 per cent per annum,” Textile Commissioner Kavita Gupta said here.

He said the Safe City project of Bareilly should also be accorded importance. He laid stress on expediting the projects under the Amrut scheme as to provide drinking water to all households is among the top priorities of the government. ” No laxity in this will be tolerated,” he warned.

CM Yogi reviews development projects of Bareilly Division

The Chief Minister was reviewing the development projects of Bareilly Division comprising Bareilly, Pilibhit, Badaun and Shahjahanpur districts. There are 14 on-going projects in the division worth over Rs 50 crore each ,out of which 10 are in Bareilly, 2 in Pilibhit, 1 each in Badaun and Shahjahanpur. In addition to this, 8 road projects of over Rs 50 crore each are in progress in the division.

The UP Minister for Labour and Employment, Shri Swami Prasad Maurya, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development Minister Shri Lakshmi Narayan Chaudhary and Urban Development Minister of State Mahesh Chandra Gupta along with the public representatives of all the districts remained present in the meeting presided over by the Chief Minister through Video Conferencing. Union Labour and Employment Minister (Independent Charge) Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar gave his valuable suggestions regarding development works in the VC.

No project related to road construction should remain pending: CM

Emphasising on the quality of work and maintenance of the timeline of all the projects, he pointed out that any delay in the developmental works unnecessarily escalates the project cost. Every project should be undertaken on a fixed time-line while observing all the quality norms. He asked the DMs to appoint nodal officers in every project to monitor its progress and quality check. He said that the utilisation certificate should be made available after completion of 75 per cent of the work so that the remaining funds may be released timely. No file should remain pending for more than 7 days at government level, he directed.

The CM said the public representatives should be consulted in preparing the developmental projects. Also, their role should be ascertained in setting up of Farmers Production Organisations (FPOs).

Affordable Housing Package

The Chief Minister said that construction under PM Awas Yojana, CM Awas Yojana and under Swachhta Mission should be geo-tagged. He also asked to expedite construction of community toilets. He further directed to improve the arrangements in the cow shelters.

The CM said that the public fund is the hard earned money of the citizens hence misutilisation of the funds meant for development should not be used elsewhere otherwise it will invite stringent action from the government. He asked to generate jobs under MNREGS work and strive hard to make all the roads free of potholes before festival season. He also directed to conserve water in every possible way and there is an urgent need to revive and conserve natural water bodies, ponds and wells. Describing ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Yojana’ as a unique scheme, the CM said that there is unlimited scope to improve the basic infrastructural framework of agriculture under this scheme.

He asked the officials to make serious and sincere efforts to collect more revenue since the money collected as revenue is the base of the development. The DMs should review department-wise GST collection every fortnight. The Chief Minister sought to remind that One District One Product (ODOP) is an ambitious scheme of the government. “Do not spare any effort for improving, showcasing, marketing and branding of the products of the districts which come under the scheme,” he directed.

Toll collection resumes on national highways from today

The CM said the network of Expressways in the state will give impetus to overall development. The Purvanchal Expressway, Bundelkhand Expressway and Ganga Expressway are under various phases of the development and will give new dimension to the state’s infrastructure.

CM praises Bareilly division for Covid control

The Bareilly division came in praise for effective control of Covid in its constituent distrcits. He, however, caution against lowering the guard and said for the next six months, the precaution and protection is a must.
