In UP’s Jalaun, names of Babar & Aurangzeb inscribed on toilet walls; images surface

The incident came to light after some users clicked photographs of these toilets and posted on social media.

New Delhi: While the Gyanvapi mosque row remains at the centre of controversy, the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb has become a political punching bag for his tyrannical rule targeting Hindus and razing their religious structure.

Amid the raging debate over despotic & oppressive rule of Mughal invaders, their names & pictures were inscribed on the walls of toilets and public urinals in Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh.

The incident came to light after some users clicked photographs of these toilets and posted on social media. In no time, it went viral as many thought ‘good treatment’ was meted out to the invaders, however, many took objection.

There are documented proofs that it was during Aurangzeb’s rule that a portion of Lord Vishwanath temple was demolished and mosque erected over its ruins.

Babar, Humayun & Aurangzeb ‘on display’ at 7 public toilets

Today morning, Jalaun town woke up to the news of ‘toilets being named after Mughals’. Some miscreants wrote names of Mughal rulers and also scribbled paintings on the walls of these public toilets. They included Akbar, Humayun, Khilji, Aurangzeb and others.

Muslim groups took objection to the demonization of Mughal rulers and complained to the police and said that it was a political conspiracy to spoil city’s atmosphere.

DM assures action, arrest of miscreants

Speaking to press, the Jalaun DM Priyanka Niranjan said that effective action will be taken against trouble makers and added that attempt to fuel communal fire will be quelled. He also informed that Municipal Corporation officials are investigating the matter and soon culprits will be caught.

Opposition leaders had blamed the ruling party behind such acts. Congress leader Rehan Siddiqui alleged that this was a despicable act and must be condemned by all.

However, many social media users poked fun at the Mughal tyrants and said that this was a ‘true tribute’ to them for murdering the soul of India.
