Invest India Conference: India has undertaken trinity of reforms in education, labour and agriculture, says PM Modi

Addressing Invest India Conference in Canada via video link, PM Modi said the reforms introduced by government has helped improve country’s ranking in terms of ease of doing business.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday hailed the trinity reforms in field of education, labour and agriculture and stated that India undertook structural reforms amidst the global pandemic to usher in revolutionary changes in the country.

Addressing Invest India Conference in Canada via video link, PM Modi said the reforms introduced by government has helped improve country’s ranking in terms of ease of doing business.

PM Modi said that the reforms in labour and agriculture sectors will lead to a win-win situation for entrepreneurs as well as hard-working people as it will ensure greater participation of private sector while strengthening the government’s safety nets.

“These reforms will lead to a win-win situation for entrepreneurs as well as hard-working people. The reforms in the field of education will further harness the talent of our youth. These reforms have also set the stage for more foreign universities to be able to come to India,” PM Modi said.

PM Modi said that the country emerged as a Pharmacy center of the world during pandemic as it extended assistance to over 150 countries around the world by supplying life saving drugs.

Prime Minister said that there lies opportunity for everyone in New India including institutional investors, manufacturers and infrastructure companies.

PM Modi said that the vibrant democracy, stability of government, transparency in business and availability of large market in the country ensures predictable return for all the Investors.

He enumerated how the govt has taken care of citizens in the country amid pandemic by making food available to nearly 800 million people.

Referring to bilateral ties with Canada, PM Modi said these are driven by shared democratic values and many common interests.

“The trade and investment linkages between us are integral to our multi-faceted relationship,” he said.

He said it is good to see so many investors and business of Canada being exposed to the tremendous business opportunities in India.

“There is one thing common to most people in the audience. It has people who can make investment decisions,” the Prime Minister said.
