New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said that a new cancer hospital with all modern facilities is almost ready in Lucknow nd will soon be inaugurated by defence minister Rajnath Singh.

Rajnath Singh will inaugurate the new cancer hospital and a fly-over in Lucknow, in the presence of the public representatives. Chief Minister said this during review of development works in Lucknow division comprising of Lucknow, Hardoi, Lakhimpur Kheri, Rae Bareli, Sitapur and Unnao districts.

According to a TOI report, the cancer hospital will be a super-speciality 1250 cancer institute, making it the biggest facility for cancer patients in public sector. The hospital will see 700 beds opening in first phase while in 2nd phase, another 500 beds would be added in the super speciality cancer hospital.

Rajneesh Dubey, Additional Chief Secretary (Medical education) told TOI a couple of days back that not only in terms of highest number of beds, it will be the largest cancer institute in the public sector with all super specialists working under one roof on a DMG format.

Under the DMG format, all specialists sit in a room along with the patient who sits opposite them and then line of treatment is finalized.

CM Yogi reviews development works in Lucknow division

Reviewing the development work in Lucknow division, Yogi Adityanath also received direct feedback about the development works in their respective constituencies. He said that the sewerage and drinking water schemes should be implemented after preparing a proper action plan. He reiterated the resolve of providing pure drinking water to the people of this state.

“The action plan is in the process to provide clean water in the areas where the fluoride and arsenic contamination is common,” he said.

Stressing on the efforts taken by the state government to combat COVID-19, he said: “The COVID situation still requires all precautions and protective measures in place. Testing should be done on war-footing as well as contact tracing and door-to-door survey process.”

CM Yogi pitches for micro-containment zones

“One-third of the total COVID tests per day should be conducted through RT-kPCR and the rest by Rapid Antigen method. The COVID positivity rate should be kept lower than 4 percent and death rate below one per cent,” he said.

The Chief Minister also asked officials for enforce strict compliance of social distancing norms and use of face masks.
“Create micro-containment zones as and where required,” CM Yogi said.

Asserting that the effective surveillance system and contact tracing can save many lives from COVID, CM yogi said that mass awareness at every level is necessary till the vaccine comes in the market.
