Jewar Airport: CM Yogi holds review meet with officials, land acquisition for 2nd phase to begin

The state government has sanctioned ₹4,000 crore for land acquisition for 2nd phase of Noida International airport scheduled to come up at Jewar.
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) has been told to begin work on the same.

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday held a review meeting regarding the Noida International Greenfield Airport in Jewar.

The Chief Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary along with senior officials were present at the meeting.

The state government has sanctioned ₹4,000 crore for land acquisition for 2nd phase of Noida International airport scheduled to come up at Jewar.
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) has been told to begin work on the same.

Work is underway for the first phase of the Noida International Airport, spread over 5,000 hectares.

The first phase will be spread over 1,300 hectares and is expected to have two runways when the airport begins flight operations. The operations are expected to begin by December 2023 or January 2024.

Jewar airport -

The first phase of the airport will be spread over 1,334 hectares and is expected to have two runways. The project’s estimated cost is Rs 4,588 crores and is likely to be completed by 2023.

The Jewar International Airport will be India’s largest airport and second largest in Asia after its construction.

Airport to handle 70 million passengers by 4th phase

The Uttar Pradesh government has appointed Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) as the implementing agency on its behalf for the airport in Jewar.

Zurich Airport International AG has been selected as the concessionaire for developing the Noida International Airport at Jewar.

According to reports, the airport will have a capacity to handle 12 million passengers per annum after the first phase and 70 million by the end of the fourth phase. The project is estimated to cost ₹29,560 crore.
