J&K: 3 BJP workers including youth wing leader killed in terror attack in Kulgam

According to a police officer, the terror group named The Resistance Front has taken the responsibility behind the terror attack on BJP youth wing leaders.

New Delhi: In yet another attack on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in the valley, terrorists shot dead 3 party workers in Kulgam district of South Kashmir on Thursday evening. The three include the district general secretary of the party’s youth wing.

The deceased have been identified as Fida Hussain, Umar Hajjan and Haroon. Fida was a general secretary in the BJP’s youth wing.

According to a police officer, the terror group named The Resistance Front has taken the responsibility behind the terror attack on BJP youth wing leaders. The group is sponsored and supported by Pakistan’s Intelligence Agency.

“It has also warned of more attacks targeting politicians,” the officer said.

“Today at about 2020 hours, Kulgam Police received information about a terror crime incident at village YK Pora, where terrorists had fired upon three BJP workers. Senior police officers reached at the crime spot,” the police said in a statement.

They were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, where they were declared as brought dead.

NC chief Omar Abdullah and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufi condemned the attacks.
