Kashmiri man, fond of PM Modi, kisses his statue at Srinagar’s Lal Chowk; VIDEO viral

New Delhi: While Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public connect continues to grow domestically & globally, a heart-warming gesture of a Kashmiri man showering his love on the former has taken the internet by storm.

A resident of Jammu & Kashmir bares his heart out and kisses Prime Minister’s statue on his cheeks. A video of the heartwarming moment surfaced on social media and has gone viral.

In the video, the Kashmiri man could be seen caressing the statue of Prime Minister and then planting a kiss on his cheeks.

An X (formerly Twitter) handle named Sheikh Imam official shared the video on social media and also tagged many popular handles to further propagate it.

According to him, the Kashmiri man made public display of affection for the Prime Minister at Srinagar’s Lal Chowk area. In the backdrop of video, ghanta ghar can be seen, which is a landmark clock tower on the Lal Chowk.

Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s charm, charisma & popularity has often resonated among the masses in form of hand-made portraits, paintings & other showpieces carved by his fans & well-wishers. These artistic works often shows up at PM Modi’s events during election rallies, roadshows and other public events.

Not the first incident

Such outpouring of love and support for Prime Minister is not new. Post the revocation of Article 370, Modi government came under fire from political parties but found resounding support from public for correcting a historic mistake.

In another heart-warming incident from 2019, PM Modi was kissed on his hand by a delegation of Kashmiri Pandits, while expressing gratefulness for rescinding special status.


It was on September 22, 2019 that Prime Minister went to US and met a delegation of Kashmiri Pandits.

Here, a member of the delegation kissed PM Modi’s hands and said, “Thank you on behalf of 7 Lakh Kashmiri Pandits.”
