Kiran Bedi’s 12 o’clock joke at Sardars sparks row, AAP condemns her remarks (VIDEO)

New Delhi: Former IPS officer Kiran Bedi landed herself in soup after she cracked a ’12 o’ clock joke’ on the Sikh community and the video of it went viral on social media. Many people, apparently from the Sikh community took objection to it and flagged her distasteful reference to the concerned department and demanded action.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) took the opportunity to condemn Kiran Bedi of hurting the sentiments of Sikh community. The former Puducherry Lieutenant Governor made the remark at the launch of her book ‘Fearless Governance’ went viral on Monday.

AAP’s Punjab in-charge Jarnail Singh objected to her sarcastic remark & said “When the Mughals were looting India and abducting women, the Sikhs fought them and protected the sisters and daughters. 12 o’clock was the time when the Mughals attack. This is the history of 12 o’clock.”

“Shame on the BJP’s leaders who have a cheap mentality and make fun of Sikhs instead of giving them respect,” he further said.

He also slammed the former top cop for deriding the residents of state from where she belonged.

As the video drew sharp reactions and anger from various quarters, Kiran Bedi took to Twitter to express regret. She said that she had highest regards & admiration for the Sikh community.

Despite her expressing regret, the former top cop was not spared and many took to social media to post abusive comments against her, which she highlighted and also warned them to refrain from doing so, failing which she will be forced to name them in public domain.
